'Hope in a boat' - an Albany Lions project
This project is about a motorcycle traveling around Australia in 80 days to raise funds for Diabetes Research. A team of two motorcycles and a car visiting more than 240 Lions Clubs. A journey of more than 22,000km
We believe that the return will far outweigh the costs as currently Diabetes Research WA is on the verge of finding a cure for Diabetes. If the cure can be developed the relief to the health system will be significant.
Lions have made a significant break through with saving sight and we believe that with the help of Diabetes Research WA we will be able to do it again.
Our sponsors include Albany Solar, Bulldog Folding Trailers (WA), Howe Theron and Milan, Albany Stationers, Steve’s Motorcycles and Rusty’s Marine. With assistance from Mckail General Store, Contach Metals
Donations can made at any NAB bank or direct deposit to BSB: 086 518 ACC: 84 383 1400. Donations over $2 are tax deductible.

Oct 8 - WARTA Corporate Golf Day 2013
Transport industry representatives and operators came together to help raise much needed funds for diabetes research in WA.
WARTA and DRF have now joined together in a strong partnership to ensure research continues into diabetes in WA. All funds raised will remain in WA for research projects that have the best potential to find a cure for diabetes (like generating stem cells and preventing diabetes) and ways to improve the lives for those who live with diabetes.
Thank you to all our sponsors for a very successful day and we look forward to building on this great day in 2014.
