What we are doing

The DRF is doing everything possible to find a cure for diabetes.

Through the very generous support of many the DRF has been able to fund research projects into all aspects of diabetes, in particular a CURE.

Here is what we are doing:

  • Supporting the Centre for Diabetes Research established by the DRF in 2005 to find a cure for diabetes.
  • Supporting research projects that assist young people living with diabetes including the trial of a transition co-ordinator at SCGH and an internet program  to help reduce fear of having a hypoglycaemic attack.
  • Finding ways to prevent complications of diabetes including diabetic retinopathy (blindness) and nephropathy (kidney failure).
  • Improving access to diabetic retinopathy screening (eye testing) in adolescents with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

An overview of research projects is available by emailing us and we will send you a copy of our mmost recent Research Report.

Pleasae help us continue to conduct this vital research by making a donation . There are many options that you can choose from.
