Research project could prove a lifeline for young adults with diabetes.
The developmental and social change throughout adolescence often means that health care in general and diabetes self-management in particular, have less priority until the need for crisis intervention. Early intervention whereby adolescents learn how to manage and live well with diabetes, the more likely complications from diabetes will be avoided.
