The Diabetes Research Foundation's mission is to find a cure for diabetes and to improve the quality of life for those living with diabetes, many of whom are employed by and contribute to the success of companies and organisations in WA around the world.
The impact of living with diabetes and undertaking important positions in the workforce can require assistance and understanding from the corporate sector. It is important to all that organisations continue to be aware of developments in diabetes research and contribute to research for the benefit for all concerned.
The benefits from research have been far reaching over the years, from newer improved methods of insulin administration to reduction in heart, kidney, eye and nerve disorders and the improvement to quality of life for those living with diabetes.
Corporate Sponsors ensure that vital and important research continues into diabetes in WA without financial constraints or interruption.
Through past corporate support the DRF has been able to establish the Centre for Diabetes Research in Perth, Western Australia. This Centre now has over 14 researchers conducting world class research, under the direction of Professor Grant Morahan, into the many areas relating to diabetes. You can read more about this research here.
