Wills & Bequests

'Generosity brings its own rewards and precious memorabilia'

Through the generosity of many Western Australian's the DRF has been able to make advances in research making a huge contribution to the quality of life for many with diabetes.

Leaving a gift to the DRF in your Will ensures we can continue to conduct vital research into all aspects of diabetes.

The DRF takes the responsibility of ensuring bequeathed funds  are quickly and effectively directed towards diabetes research. Through some very significant bequests the DRF has been able to expand the research focus. Four new research projects have been awarded for 2009. You can read more about these projects here.

Western Australia (WA) has a very proud record of community involvement and achievement. There is much research being undertaken in WA and we are excited at the prospect of a cure for diabetes being ever closer.

If you would like to help the DRF continue to support research into diabetes by making a gift, we advise that you consult a solicitor, accountant or financial advisor.  We are also happy to answer any of your concerns and organise a tour of some of the research facilities we support where possible. Please contact Sherl Westlund on  08 9224 1006 to discuss this further.

WILL PREPARATION

The making of a Will is often an uncomfortable process but it is important that your wishes are respected and are carried out by the person (Executor/Trustee) of your choice. A Will need not be expensive or complex. You may wish to leave sentimental items to particular members of your family or friends and you can make contributions to certain causes that are dear to you and your family.

Our solicitors are able to draft a simple Will for members of the DRF for a minimal fee. Please contact Sherl Westlund  on 08 9224 1006 to discuss further.

For your information the DRF recommends the following wording be used in the preparation of a Will incorporating specific and residuary gifts:
